The ACE easyretrieve Trephine System is a simple concept, one that has been attempted by others, but never quite perfected, until now. There are two major drawbacks associated with trephines, both of those problems are well addressed and solved with the easyretrieve System.

Contacting a trephine bur onto a bone surgical site can be difficult at times. How far will it chatter and walk before the trephines teeth engage and begin drilling? How far from the intended site will you be? With the easyretrieve system a simple and precise pilot hole is made. The trephine’s Drill Guide centers itself in the pilot hole while you make a shallow, initial trephine cut. The drill guide is then removed allowing you to drill to your desired depth.

Once the desired bone core is obtained into the trephine, the second surgical nightmare begins – How do I remove the harvested core from the trephine? The appropriately named easyretrieve makes this “easy”. Simply remove the contra angle driver shaft and the bone core can be pushed out of the trephine. Now you don’t want to shoot the harvested core across the room, so we have made a unique tool that slowly and controllably retrieves the core from the trephine.
